This large 14,000 sq ft new home sits on a sloped site of nearly an acre. GSLA worked with Gunderson Matkins and O+L Building Projects to bring a refined and understated palette to the landscape to support the indoor/outdoor nature of the home. A generous arrival sequence is punctuated by drifts of lavender and mature olive trees that sit above a water feature, designed by the architects, which creates a sense of tranquility as one progresses to the glass entryway.
The rear of the home features a large swimming pool and a mature Eucalyptus tree, which anchor the generous outdoor gathering spaces. Native shrubs and Mediterranean grasses cascade down from the lawn terrace to evoke the landscape forms of the surrounding canyon chaparral community.
