This project, located in Tacoma, Washington, was a collaboration with Steel Architects, who designed the single story home located on top of a steep bluff with majestic views of the Sound. The house sits at the edge of the slope to maximize the views from inside and the structures create a garden courtyard on the interior of the site. The couple who live here have a large family, and they wanted to maximize the functionality of the space for gatherings with their kids and grandkids. The highly programmed garden includes spaces for outdoor dining, a fire pit and a large in ground spa. Lush planting defines the various areas and provides privacy from the street and parking court.
